Our Work

What we do

  • We service any level of traditional western flute or piccolo, beginner through professional, as well as Irish, Baroque, and Traverso flutes.
  • We offer the highest quality professional service, trusted by:
    • Oregon Symphony musicians

    • Professional orchestral players

    • University music faculty

    • Portland-area teachers and students

See our Testimonials page for what folks are saying!
  • We currently operate on an appointment basis.
  • We recommend a COA (Clean, Oil, and Adjust) ideally every 12–18 months. This routine maintenance—much like regular service for a car—helps your flute play its best and extends the life of the instrument.
  • Our overhaul services can restore a flute with new corks, felts, pads; full cleaning and polishing/tarnish prevention treatment; dent removal, and mechanical work to restore key alignment and fit. (Full spring replacement and soldering are available at an additional cost.)
  • We can perform acoustic work on your instrument which often has magical effects and can make the instrument sound and play better than ever.
  • We are able to work on all flute brands.
  • Authorized repair services for: Burkart, Di Zhao, Hammig, Miyazawa, Muramatsu, Pearl, Sankyo, Song, Trevor James, Yamaha
    • Don’t see your instrument brand listed? No problem! Our Straubinger Certification reflects an industry-recognized standard of flute repair across all brands.

What we do not do

  • We can try but cannot guarantee a successful repair on most "disposable" flutes (retail <$300), as they are difficult or sometimes impossible to work on, and can even break irreparably. However we are happy to look at any instrument and give you the best advice and help we can.
  • If your instrument cannot be repaired, we do offer a carefully curated selection of new and pre-owned instruments for sale, to help you find the right replacement.
